Adult Social Care in Central Bedfordshire is a high‑performing, values‑driven service, rated Good by the CQC, with a strong culture built on person‑centred practice, partnership working and a commitment to helping people live independently and thrive within their communities. As our long‑standing Service Director prepares to retire, we are seeking an exceptional leader to help shape the next phase of our journey.

This is a pivotal role with a wide and meaningful remit. You will oversee key service areas including assessment and care management, provider services, mental health (under a S75 agreement), safeguarding and quality, supported by a stable and capable cohort of Heads of Service. With a significant budget and a complex operating environment, the role requires strategic vision, strong relationship‑building skills, confident leadership and an ability to navigate both operational delivery and system‑wide collaboration.

We are looking for someone who can maintain the strengths of our current offer while bringing fresh insight, ambition and a passion for delivering outstanding outcomes for adults and families.
