As part of the Council’s senior leadership team, we are looking for someone who share’s our passion for delivering great outcomes that enables our people and places to flourish. You’ll bring with you extensive leadership experience, a proven track record of setting direction, turning strategy into delivery, and most of all developing a culture that enables the service to excel.

With an established highways contract in place, you’ll be experienced in working within a NEC contractual framework and be commercially astute. There’s an opportunity for you to continue to shape the Highways Service to ensure we achieve best value and the right outcomes, based on robust data and insight. Delivery is key, alongside strong financial controls, political awareness and excellent communication skills. You will champion new ways of working, be innovative and your ability to quickly build lasting and productive relationships with colleagues, councillors and the contractor is critical. You’ll understand and adapt to the changing needs of our residents, communities, and businesses to ensure continuous development of the Highways Service, for the good of all highway users.
